We visited John dorys twice the past 2 weeks.Very pleased with service.Just want to ask owner or whoever is in charge that they make sure the staff clean the play area.We have a 2 year old and it is disgustingly dirty in the play area.

Well place is falling apart . No air con only LOUD fans blowing hot air around. Even from the outside it's crumbling. The windows look dirty with insects on it. Pity place was really a gem a couple of years ago .if I'm going to pay top Rands to eat somewhere I'd prefer to do it while I'm comfortable and not in a tornado insect invested restaurant . If I can offer some advice if you go eat there take a chameleon with you to catch the inserts and go dressed as if you were going Into a malaria zone ...also don't forget the bug spray . On the positive side the food was very good. Fish grilled perfectly rice fluffy coleslaw tangy. I can't fault them on that

Great food yet again. Good service. Pity about the noisy fans. New aircons not working. There is still polystyrene in the vents. Maybe that's why they not working.

Fantastic afternoon with friends attending the sushi workshop experience.
All made our own sushi under the watchful eye and help from sushi chef SNE.

Had dinner at John Dory's Scottburgh, with my wife during our recent stay at Cutty Sark. Our waiter seated us with a menu and said he will back in 2 minutes. He somehow disappeared. Upon enquiring, a new waiter was allocated. We ordered a Prawn Volcano as a starter and a Captain platter to share with fruit juices as our drinks. Service from our newly allocated waiter was good and quick. The food was good and enjoyable. I will return for lunch to enjoy the views during the day.

John Dory has a sushi special on Wednesday where certain of their sushi offerings are at half price. This attracted us and we weren't disappointed. The service was attentive, the view amazing and the sushi was fresh and well prepared.
A popular venue at this seaside town, it was full of diners enjoying the festive atmosphere and good food.

Went for dinner tonight 27th December with my daughters as a family. My main arrived first 25 minutes later my 1st daughters arrived, and my other daughter who order sushi order was not even processed. Our waiter never communicated, never cleaned glasses or dishes. Waiter never asked if we want more drinks. 1 hour 30 minutes still no sushi for my daughter. Manager and waiter had awful attitudes. Food received mediocre and SERVICES awful. Don't bother you will be sorely disappointed!!!

John Dorys never ceases to provide delicious meals and accommodate my dietary requirements. As a vegetarian, I always order the vegetarian platter for R99. It's an absolute value for money and my go to for a meal with variety. We've been regulars for years and will continue doing so. Thank you John D's.
